Hi I'm Jerry

I was born in 1938 in Idaho of Mormon parents, raised a Mormon, and 75 years later, I am still a Mormon and loving it.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Idaho USA. This included fishing and hunting as this was a rural area. It was here I met my bride-to-be. I got the most important thing off of the farm. I married the farmers daughter. Fifty years later we are still loving each other. I followed in my fathers footsteps, and became a physician just like him. I learned from him to respect and love those we serve. He told me that if I took good care of my patients, they would take good care of me. I am now retired, but as busy as ever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, raised a Mormon, and will die some day still a Mormon. In my career as a physician, I have seen many things that can only been explained as miracles. I have prayed for answers, and have received them. I have received guidance that was not of my own. In my callings I have been instructed and have witnessed things I can not deny. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I would challenge you to read this book, and consider Joseph translating this manuscript in less time than you can probably read it. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. Playfully ask for knowledge as to the truth of this book and you will receive it. Compare it to the old and the new testaments. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. Read the Joseph Smith History, and you will know with a certainty that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored in these latter days in the fullness of time. I cannot deny what I know. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

When I retired, I was asked to become our stake extraction director. This calling involved the extraction of data from records of genealogical importance. This data was destined to be searchable by those researching their family history. Two years later I was called to serve in a multi-stake family history center. This calling involved helping patrons with family history, as well as managing the centers computers. Can you believe that computers are one of my hobbies? My wife and I were then called to work in the Idaho Twin Falls Temple. These callings kept us busy, but it was work we loved. Is it work if you enjoy it? We have now been called to labor at the Idaho Twin Falls Mission. Did you know that the main part of the word "enjoy" is "joy"?
