Hi I'm Leslie

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm married with two great sons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married 22 years and have two sons ages 21 and 19. My awesome husband is not a Mormon, but he encourages me in every way. I have been a stay at home mom and have held part time jobs off and on to help support our family. I've worked in the operations part of different banks and as I got older, I found I loved to do boring data entry. Before I was married I had jobs working with children both in the US and Canada. I was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and thought it was a great place to grow up. It was nothing like what it is now. I met and married my husband there 22 years ago and we have a great life together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a wonderful Mormon couple 52 years ago, so I've always been Mormon. My parents always loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and were excellent examples to me. My father died when I was almost 13 and one of my first thoughts, and greatest blessings, was that I knew I would see him again. My pain was greater than any I had ever known and I knew it would be a long, long time before I would see him again, but I knew I would see him again. The Lord had prepared me for this when I was younger. At the age of 9, I saw my late grandfather at an important family event. My parents had seen him too and I knew we still lived after temporal death. I have had many trials and difficulties in my life and our lives are never as easy as we hope they'll be as we try to follow our path to being true disciples of the Savior. I want to share my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone who might care to read it. I know the Gospel is true. I know God and Jesus Christ live and love us very much. God sent His only begotten Son to redeem us from our sins and to ease our pain and suffering. Without Him, there would be no opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father or to see our loved ones again. I know God still reveals his will to us through a living prophet today. I know that Joseph Smith truly did see God the Father and Jesus Christ in a grove of trees in New York state. Jesus Christ, through Joseph Smith restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth today. I know the Bible is the word of God. I know without any doubt that the Book of Mormon is also the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I know the Lord loves us, helps and guides us in every way, no matter what struggles or choices we make in this life. His atonement frees our path to eternal life and immortality. I love my Savior and know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and teaches the way back to Him.

How I live my faith

I work with young girls, ages 8-11, in our church. I love it. We are teaching them about serving others, learning and loving the gospel, and developing talents. I also attend my church meetings every Sunday for three hours. I know that seems long to most people, but each hour is so different from the others that the time just flies by. I learn so much about my Savior, I can't wait to go back each week. I just started singing in the choir, which I haven't done for quite a while. I always enjoyed singing in the church choir when I was younger and now I look forward to feeling the Lord's spirit through the music we sing.
