Hi I'm Jonathan!

I love discovering new stories. Spending time with close friends is a passion. I'm gay, live in Canada and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a family of 9, me being the second oldest child. I love to learn, read, play games of all sorts and spend time with friends and family. I am currently studying Civil Engineering at BYU and trying to figure out where life will take me once I complete my education.

Why I am a Mormon

It's a little more complicated than just being born into it. While I may have grown up in the church and been attending my whole life, the real question is why I choose to stay a member of this church. Ever since I realized I was gay it's been a battle within to choose between two very important parts of me: my faith and upbringing versus my sexual orientation and very real feelings. I personally don't have all the answers, especially when it comes to being both gay and Mormon, but I believe that God is there and that He hears my prayers. I have felt His love, and in return I try to do the best I can here to follow the plan He has laid out for each one of us. It certainly isn't easy, but the rewards of living a life guided by a loving Heavenly Father are worth it.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving a two year mission in Sweden, where I had the opportunity to help other people come closer to Jesus Christ. Now I strive to do the same things I taught other people to do: Pray, read my scriptures daily, attend church meetings, serve others and follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is all part of keeping covenants, promises I made to God with the promise that I will be blessed in return.
