Hi I'm Xavier

I am a working college student. Samoan. Born and raised in SoCal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently working and going to school. Studying electrical engineering. Three things that define me other than the gospel would be Family, Sports, and Music. My decisions, actions and goals are all centered on taking care of my family in this life and in the eternities. Growing up a samoan, my family doesn't just include my brothers and sisters, but also my cousins, aunts, uncles, close friends. Anyone and everyone that the lord chooses to put in my life. I love volleyball, basketball, football and soccer. I served a full-time 2-year mission in Panama. Which was the best two years of my life. I learned spanish and learned so much about the gospel and life. I also learned that Eternal Happiness is truly found within this gospel. I am extremely blessed to have this gospel in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church meaning my parents were already members when I was born and I was baptized at 8 yrs old. I grew up learning the basic doctrines and principals however as I got older I gradually began drifting away. In high school I was no longer attending church. Instead I was too focused on my environment and surroundings which at that time in Southern California, was gangs. After I graduated from high school I moved out of California and began going to church again with my family I was staying with. At church I saw many older samoans that I knew had been involved in gangs earlier in their lives as well and at that moment I knew I didn't want to waste my life because I saw the joy the gospel brought in their lives but also the suffering that they went through because of the gang lifestyle. I began studying the Book of Mormon and the gospel and immediately wanted to receive of the eternal blessings promised to our families. I changed my life around and within a year I received my mission call and I have never looked back. I love this gospel with all my heart and soul. I am not perfect I have my many faults but I fight everyday for those eternal blessings. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I have felt the power of the sacrifice he made for me. When he suffered for my sins, my mistakes, my shortcomings. I have felt his forgiveness in my life. Families can be together forever but only if we are willing to work for it. To make it possible.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each and everyday. Its important to me to try and live the way the savior did. Although we will always come up short. It doesn't mean we shouldn't try. I also love helping with the youth. Whenever there are activities I love going to help and spend time with them. Especially when it involves sports. Haha. In my ward I teach a class on sundays about gospel doctrines. I love teaching. It helps me to learn just as much as the people in class. I like to think more of it as a discussion because we are all teaching each other.
