Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a new mom. I love to sew and create. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate, and a wife and mother. I love being a mom! I also love to craft, and sew. Reading is another love of mine, as well as Ballroom Dance! I also love throwing parties/events, being the planner and organizing everything. Seeing it all come together is awesome!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was baptized when I was 8. I haven't always been strong in the church. There were times when I had many questions and doubts. I rebelled against the teachings of the church because I thought they were too restrictive, or meant to keep me away from doing the things that I wanted. However, I found my way back and have never been happier! I discovered that when I was rebelling I only thought I was happy, but in truth I was miserable. I would think to myself "I'm happy now that I don't have to follow all those 'rules'". But what I have found since is that I was only lying to myself. These 'rules' are merely guidelines to help us stay on the path that leads to true happiness. Following the gospel has only ever brought me joy. It brought me to my wonderful husband (I still can't believe I got him!) and it led me to my beautiful little girl. I look into their eyes and see the eternities that we get to spend together. The blessings of the gospel are bountiful in my life. To be honest, when I was 8 I chose to be a member because that was just something that happened when you turned 8. I didn't fully understand, but then, I didn't try to either. But I am grateful for my innocent 8 year self who had so much faith and didn't even recognize it. I am grateful to be a member of the church. I know that it is true. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and love me. I know that Jesus Christ died so that I could return to live with them someday. I know that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet that was called of God to restore the church to the earth as it is today. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet also called of God to lead us in these days. I know that I can be with my family forever. And I know that everyone can have this knowledge, if they pray with sincere faith and a desire to know the truth. Heavenly Father loves all of us and wants us to return to him. I know this. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I teach the women in my ward once a month. This is a humbling position as I always teach topics that I feel I need to work most on. But what a blessing! I get to study these things out in preparation to teach and in doing so I feel the truth of it take hold in my heart and change begins in my life. I also visit and serve the women in the ward as often as I can, so I can hopefully help lift their burdens or share with them an inspirational message to lift their spirits. I have worked with the youth in the past and it is very rewarding, and something I hope to do again in the future.
