Hi I'm Brenda Martinez

I grew up in Texas.I am a college student. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student and am enjoying the great learning experiences. I have always had a love for learning, but also for teaching others. Though my major is not in education, I value it greatly. In high school, I actively participated in clubs like student council because I loved to organize events that would improve my school's atmosphere. I had a great time! I love to spend time with my family. We enjoy going out together and doing all types of things like going to swim out on a lake, or grocery shopping. I value spending time with my family because I learn more about each of them and improve our relationships.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was born my Father converted and since then was a faithful member. My mother was not a member when they married, but after several years of listening to the missionaries she became a member as well. Since I was a child, my parents would share their conversion stories and invited me and my siblings to pray regarding what we were taught in church and ask God regarding its truth. I always had that invitation present in my heart and every time it crossed my mind and I would ask I always felt it to be true. It was through experiences in my youth, like scripture study and youth activities that allowed me to feel the spirit and receive confirmation that the gospel that I had received was true. The feelings of peace that I received only became greater when I began to apply what I learned, and share with others my understanding of the gospel. Since those early experiences, I have cherished the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have wanted to share with others the great joy that it brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as I serve others. I have enjoyed serving in various positions of service with the youth, visit teaching, and planning activities. Through such service activities, I have learned that as you serve others you get closer to Christ. In my daily life, when I am not preparing to participate in such service activities, I look for other ways to serve others. I believe that it is important to serve everyone around you.
