Hi I'm McKenna

I grew up in a small southern town in Tennessee. I love reading, playing soccer, and a good thunderstorm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of the things I love most in this world is my family. I really cherish the time I spend wrestling with my brothers, harmonizing with my mother and sister, and cracking jokes with my dad. Recently we moved over 2000 miles away from my hometown. That meant, I was starting my senior year of high school thousands of miles away. But I made it, and I am happier than ever! Through the Lord, my family, and new friends I successfully survived high school. Now, I am a typical college student living off of ramen and Netflix. But in the rare moment when I am not studying or working I love to read, play soccer, watch Beauty and the Beast, and sing along to Les Misérables.

Why I am a Mormon

My life has meaning because of the gospel. Because I am a Mormon I know who I am, why I am here, who I can become, and where I can go. Yes I was born into the church, but every day I make the choice to stand as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, to bear His name. I'm a Mormon because I know with all my heart that this is the Lord's church on the earth today. I have a testimony that God lives and that He loves me and you. I know that He loves us enough to give us a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, just as He did in the old days. He gives us the scriptures to lead and guide us because He loves us. He even sent His only begotten son to suffer and die on the cross for us, for me, for you. Heavenly Father wants us to return to Him. He wants so badly for us to make it back home. I am doing everything that I can to return back to Him with honor. And I bear testimony that through the Lord, every one of us can do just that, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I currently hold a calling in the Primary which means I get to teach the children and I absolutely love it. I honestly learn so much from their Christ-like kindness and unconditional love. Also, as a college student, I have the opportunity to attend a scripture study class called Institute. I love learning more about how the scriptures can bless my life and the lives of others. However, I believe the most simple and yet most important way that I am living the gospel is by obeying the commandments and living a life of service.
