Hi I'm Hayley Kane

I like to sing. I'm super sarcastic. I laugh almost always. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just your typical college girl trying to find a place for myself in this wonderful world. :) I was born in Greeley, Colorado. My Heavenly Father blessed me with an awesome family. Unfortunately, the perfect family I thought I had, was torn apart due to some unwanted events that occurred when I was young. My parents divorced, and somehow my mom, my brother and myself found ourselves in good ole' Twin Falls, Idaho where my grandparents were there to take us in. The time there was short lived. My mom met a guy, and eventually married. Hello, Pocatello. Unfortunately, another heartbreak for my sweet momma happened soon after, and we found ourselves in a broken city- just us three against the world, I suppose. Ten years later: It's small, it's dirty...It's home. Some may be curious about my father. Simply put, I have no contact with the man that's meant to be called, "dad". He recently chose drugs over his family, and that's just how it is. I don't know where he is, or what he's doing. I don't know if he thinks of me on my birthday or at all. I am still trying to find room in my heart to forgive, but that's another story. I am blessed enough to have an amazing mom who is strong enough to play both roles. My older brother is pretty cool... he has always been my best friend and my #1 fan. I am currently attending BYU-I, majoring in Special Education and loving it! I love people that make me laugh. I like to sing, write and serve. I can be yo' friend!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, yes. No, that's not why I'm a Mormon. See, I have learned to love this gospel. I have gained a testimony for myself. I wasn't forced to believe in this church. I don't build my testimony off of others that I hear, however, it is always nice to hear other peoples'. Trust me when I say, "I know this church is true." Ya know... When life kicked me to the curb and I thought I had no where else to go, Heavenly Father was. When I messed up in life, Jesus Christs' Atonement saved me. You see, I am far from perfect. I mess up. I get confused and sometimes wonder what I am even doing here. I am normal. I have found that answers come, and hearts become happy when we rely on the Lord. For all things good come from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I'd like to say that I live my faith in the simplest of ways. For example, I am probably the least judgmental person on this planet. I wanna be friends with everyone. I don't care what faith you believe in, what temptations you have, what size and shape you are, if you're quiet or super loud, wealthy or struggling to survive.. I'm gonna find something I love about you, and that's that. I like to be an example. If I'm hanging out with some people, and they are doing something that I don't feel comfortable doing, I'm going to try (in a fun, less obvious, not stuck-up-ish way) to get us all to do something else. If they're not for it, that's okay, and I'll respect them... but for me, I'll just see you later. :) I don't know if this next one counts... but I absolutely love listening to church music, and even writing some. I believe music is one of theeee most powerful ways to invite and feel the Spirit. Lastly, I live my faith by being modest. Yes, in my thoughts & actions, but also in my dress. It's freakin' hard to dress cute now-a-days without looking like your grandma! It's possible. I promise. :)
