Hi I'm Tessa

I love the outdoors, laughing, and hanging out. I'm a convert. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In 2012, I planned to have a typical Spring Break that any non-LDS young adult would have; wild and free! Little did I know that one event from that spring break would change my life, even into eternity. The spring break I met with the missionaries for the very first time, and I was hooked. I never thought that there was a God until they taught me about him. It took my a year to get baptized into the church. I was baptized on January 19th, 2013. And it was the best decision that I could have made for myself. I'm a college student who loves life and can have tons of fun without substances. I have gained so many wonderful friends who make me want to be a better person. I enjoy the outdoors. I love bow shooting, snow boarding, wake boarding, and hanging out with my friends!

Why I am a Mormon

Late into my first semester of college, I found a Book of Mormon that a missionary had sent me. I read Ether 12:12 "For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith." At that moment I knew I wanted the gospel in my life. It was hard for me to understand what that scripture meant, but I wanted to know. The very next day I found missionaries in my area and had our first lesson. And from then I gradually started following the commandments and living by the word of wisdom. I know that this church is true, and I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet who translated the Book of Mormon, and I know that I have a lovely Heavenly Father who knows me and cares for me. And I know of these things because of the Holy Ghost, which testifies of all truthfulness.

How I live my faith

My first calling that I had received was the Family Home Evening Committee (FHE). FHE was held every monday night, we planned and organized activities for the collage young single adults in our ward. It was so much fun. And I loved it. I eventually was called to be the Chairwomen of FHE. Currently, I have been called to serve as a full time missionary to the Peru Huancayo Mission. I report to the Peru Mission Training Center June 3rd, 2014. I am excited to share with the people of Peru the happiness that I have felt with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
