Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in California and love to surf. I was raised in the Hawaiian culture. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to surf longboard and I don't need the big wave to have fun. My parents are converts to the church. I will be attending BYU-I for college. I hope to be able to earn a degree in auto-machanics. If there is a place where I can have fun then I am there, within reason. I love being active and playing sports. I like to jam on the ukulele when I have some extra time and just sing songs with my friends/family. I am the middle child of 3 kids. I have an older brother and younger sister who I love so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not because it is easy but because it keeps me on the path that God has asked me to walk. This path has been difficult but I have felt such great peace through the challenges I've faced. I have fallen off the path before and when I was going out to make some bad decisions on night the holy spirit told me that the path I was on would bring me nowhere and it told me that I shouldn't do what I was going to do. I also started to read the scriptures and asked if this church was the one I should join and I had a calm feeling that i was already a part of the church. Ever since I have not been able or deny that witness.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best to look for opportunities to serve people where ever I am. I also show others that I am just happy because the gospel of Jesus Christ is to help us to be happy. I go out with another member of the church to assist, uplift, teach, and be friends with families who are open to their faith being strengthened.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We are saved by grace after we have done everything we can do by repenting of our sins. ‘There is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah’ (2 Nephi 2:8). Show more Show less
