Hi I'm Emily

I'm a wife, mother and cancer survivor. I am the founder of "Share the Miracles". I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Texas (and am shamelessly loud and proud about it). My two greatest loves in life are 1. my hubs aka husband and 2. my chubs aka my one year old. I also love musical theater, the great outdoors and Mexican food. I studied Therapeutic Recreation and have worked with all sorts of folk with physical and/or emotional challenges. I have served two missions for the church. One in Nauvoo, Illinois as a performing missionary (singing/dancing) and the other in Costa Rica as a proselyting missionary . I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during my third trimester of pregnancy. I am in remission and our little family is currently in Arizona while hubs is in Pharmacy school. My newest project, which has been 100% from my own experience with cancer, is called "Share the Miracles". Its a website where viewers can read and share inspiring stories about how God has helped them through adversity.

Why I am a Mormon

It makes me happy. I LOVE being Mormon! Picking one reason of why I am a Mormon would be like trying to pick out the most beautiful note played in your favorite song. Each note makes it beautiful. As a Mormon, I have ancient and modern scripture to help teach me about God's plan for me. Having both makes everything so much clearer! I don't have to stumble around through life wondering what's my purpose or where I am going. After I was baptized, I received God'd promise that his Spirit will always be with me and never lead me to wrong paths! With that companionship of the Spirit I can feel peace, even in the darkest of times. Another beautiful thing about being a Mormon is that I get hear "hot off the press" instruction from God through his Prophet and Apostles every six months! I feel his Spirit teach me as I listen to them speak. Through promises I make to God, I have the promise of an eternal family, divine power and protection. Those promises give me courage to be different from the world and to stand up for truth and righteousness. Its a happy, meaningful way to live. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am one of three leaders of the children's program at church called Primary. This incorporates many things! On Sundays we coordinate their Sunday School hour and make sure that all their teachers have shown. We help during the second hour with music time and we take turns teaching the whole group! We also coordinate activities for the children during the week as well. This includes Cub Scouts for the boys and Activity Days for the girls. Each year, the children get to share all the songs they've learned as well as their testimonies to the entire congregation. I get to organize that program as well. Other ways I live my faith include visiting sisters in our congregation each month. During my visits we make sure all is well with each sister and then share an uplifting message.
