Hi I'm Shelby

I'm from Richland, Washington. I love to dance, play piano, and read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite thing to do is dance. Although I'm not the best, I have been dancing for most of my life. I started when I was seven and never stopped. Clogging is my absolute favorite! Right now, I'm on my school's Folk Dance team where we learn various dances from around the world. Another huge part of my life is my family. I have four siblings, and three of them are married. My parents are still happily married and I love talking with them. I'm currently going to college studying biology and hope to become a marine biologist.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was little, I was a Mormon because my parents were Mormon. I went to church and read my scriptures only because it was expected of me. As I grew up with this habit, I came to know for myself that this church was true. Now, I know without a doubt that this church is the true church and that it was restored by Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and can bring us closer to our Heavenly Father than any other book. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that through His Atonement, my sins can be forgiven and if I turn to Him, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. I hope that I will always remember these things and that they will always be dear to my heart as they are now.

How I live my faith

For eighteen months, I have the opportunity to share what I believe as a full time missionary. I teach people about the Mormon faith and help them to grow closer to their Heavenly Father. It is an amazing experience! As a missionary, I don't only teach, but look for opportunities to serve in the community as well. I just try to help out in any way possible to make this world a better place.
