Hi I'm Shelby

I'm a small town Idaho girl and a college senior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in college studying exercise physiology. I love learning and applying what I learn about health in everyday life. As far as my hobbies..... Where to start?! Fishing, horseback riding, riding dirt bikes, country dancing, playing volleyball and basketball, snow/water skiing, and just about anything else that is either active or outdoors! I also like to cook, read novels, watch a good chick flick or Lord of the Rings, play the piano, and sing loudly in the car and the shower. Life should be enjoyed and I love living life!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the constant in my life that keeps me going everyday. I know that because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can change and become the person Heavenly Father wants me to be. The atonement means becoming one with Christ, or becoming like Christ. It means changing. It's such an amazing blessing to me that we have the opportunity to change. It gives me hope for the future and a healthy perspective about the past. I am so thankful for this blessing. I know Heavenly Father loves me. I know that he loves each one of us. I was born to LDS parents The church has always been an active part of my life, but that is not why I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I found out for myself and I know that the church is the true. It's where I belong. It truly is a gospel of hope. I love reading the Book of Mormon. It guides my life and helps me come closer to the Lord. I know that the church of Jesus Christ is true and I know that Heavenly Father loves all of his children. I know that we have prophets on the Earth today that give us guidance and direction. I'm so grateful and blessed to have the gospel in my life and I know that it's true.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a visiting teaching coordinator in my ward. I love my calling. It's fun to get to know the women in my ward and serve them through my calling. I like to get involved with the people in my ward and community by serving them. There are so many opportunities to volunteer and serve the community through activities and projects my ward puts on. Through my church group I've helped organize a blood drive, as well as serving with a group of volunteers in various service projects.
