Hi I'm Nathan

I have grown up in Utah. I had a rough childhood and found the truth for myself and want to share it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent high school graduate. I played lots of sports in high school: Football, Wrestling and track. I also was in a couple of clubs that were offered in the school. I love being active and getting involved. I wasn't as close to the church as I really wanted to be in high school but now that I'm surrounded by great influences they have helped me to work hard and prepare me to serve a mission. That is the next chapter of my life :)

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I didn't have the gospel in my life and in a way I was lost. I didn't grow up in the best home and parents weren't as supportive as they should have been. at the age of about eight and a half I saw two men walking along the side walk and I thought that they were lost so I went out and talked to them. It turned out that they were missionaries so they came inside and shared a message and left my mom with a card which she tore up after they left. for months and months I wondered what they were talking about. The book of Mormon, Testimonies, Prophets. I was really curious. One weekend I was at my fathers house (My parents were divorced) and were sitting in the front room. I opened the door and one of those same missionaries was standing right in front of me. As he taut me lessons and helped me progress I eventually got baptized and as time went on and I progressed, I am now going to serve a mission. in fact, I enter the MTC in 29 days!!! If you are looking for truth and an answer to life, this is where to get it. I was lost and have found purpose.

How I live my faith

I live the faith everyday. Its not a one time thing or "Only on Sundays" its a constant progression and effort. I am in a college ward for singles so that we can all mesh and work together to get to know one another. I have a wonderful calling, I help with some of the finances of the church and I have learned so much and made great friends. My bishop is my best friend, we do all kinds of fun things together like: hot tubing, going to movies, organizing actives and serves projects. Here we look out for one another and make sure that each others needs are being met like: help with homework, using our priesthood and authority to bless others, befriending others, reaching out and taking initiative.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Its one of the most sensitive and addicting things that a person can ever face. I believe that we should get more involved with programs that fight the spread of pornography like www.fightthenewdrug.org I'm a member and its a great sight to get involved with. I also believe that parents need to be more involved with their children, not just on the parent-child level but friend to friend level. Be supportive and warn about the causes of it. its like if I told you that a giant pink bunny was to walk into the room and I told you NOT TO LOOK AT IT. what would your first reaction be? It would of course be to look at it. But if I told you that there was a giant pink bunny going to walk in the room and just acknowledge that its there and not to worry, you would be a little more at ease. In lots of cases that may not work but try and put yourself into their shoes and see their point of view, It might just give you a new perspective. Show more Show less
