Hi I'm Yarima Gutierrez

I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah. I like to play sports. I am a mormon.

About Me

I love to play basketball. I played all four years of high school. I also really like to play soccer once in a while. I am currently attending college at USU Eastern in Price, Utah. It is my first year here. I love to hang out with my friends and learn new things. I love taking picture and try to be funny! I have been called to serve in the Guatemala city east mission leaving May 28, 2014! Couldn't be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when i was 16. I had heard about missionaries before and how they always came to my house. I was hardly ever there because i played basketball and i was gone a lot. I wasn't very interested. I always had an excuse to not be there. Then an big event happened in my life that changed it forever. I needed help, comfort and knowledge that everything would be ok. I started taking the discussions and i finally decided to get baptized! I had this desire to learn more and more everyday because what i was taught by the missionaries was that there was always someone who would be by my side at all times as long as i allowed it to be. I was put into a home where the gospel was a strong point and it helped to grow stronger. I know that what they taught me is true. That Jesus Christ does really live and i found that out for myself and that he restored this gospel through Joseph Smith, a prophet of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Prophet Thomas Spencer Monson is a true prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins so that we can return to him again. I love this gospel and the eternal happiness that it brings me and the blessings it brings to me and my family. I know that families can be together forever. There is no greater joy than this knowledge of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I attend church activities whenever i can. I am in a Young Single Adult ward. I have a calling to be the 2nd counselor in a presidency. I am currently in charge of compassionate service, making sure that the woman in our ward are being helped and if they are sick we can be there with whatever they need. Also i make sure monthly activities are always an option to attend. I am really active in my visiting teaching. I visit my friends and am always there to help.
