Hi I'm Marie

"I'm a wife, a mom and a daughter of God, I'm a Mormon."

About Me

I love to read and I have a great job as a library aide at an elementary school. Love the joy the students have when they find a book they love to read. I love baseball too. My life long dream was to be a mom and have a son that played baseball. When I could not have children I thought my dream was gone but Heavenly Father knows each of us and loves us so much. He answered my prayer when we were able to adopt a baby boy who grew up to love baseball as much as me!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church all my life. My grandparents were great examples and would bring me to church every Sunday. I appreciate all they taught me but especially the way they loved the Lord. I love the Savior and His church, it brings me peace and joy in a world that is very troubling sometimes. "I know that my Redeemer lives, what comfort this sweet sentence gives." This is from my favorite hymn, may you find comfort in these words and in the Savior also.

How I live my faith

At church I am the president of the womens group that meets together every Sunday to learn and discuss how we can grow closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. How we can serve others as the Savior taught us. We have fun as we get together on other days every other month to share our thoughts and talents with each other. We are blessed and in turn we bless others especially our families.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Marie
We have three different meetings on Sundays, sacrament meeting is where we partake of the sacrament (communion): It consists of prepared bread and water, which is blessed and passed by priesthood holders. Prayers are offered by church members and the speakers are members who have prepared spiritual messages to share with the congregation. We sing religious songs around four and there are hymn books. After sacrament meeting we have Sunday School classes for different age grougs, 12 and up. A nursery for 18 months to 3 years, Primary meetings and classes for children 3 through 11 years old. The next meeting is for the women ages 18 years and up and the Priesthood meeting is at the same time for males 12 and up. We love to have visitors, you can attend whenever you want.
