Hi I'm Abbey

I am constantly singing, I love theatre and improv, and I'm absolutely obsessed with analyzing classic literature!

About Me

I am a pretty crazy individual. I like a lot of different things, some of them being improvisational theatre, (and regular theatre, of course), movies that make me cry, ultimate frisbee, and of course all that normal stuff like being with my wonderful family, having fun with my best friends, and breathing air. I am almost ALWAYS singing something. However, apparently it's obnoxious when someone is talking to me, and I start belting a Broadway classic halfway through their sentence. Whatever. I know exactly what you're saying. I'm a great multi-tasker. I love the Vancouver (WA, not BC... Ha.) area, and would LOVE to live there someday. 20 minutes from Portland and 50 minutes away from the Oregon Coast?? Come on!! I love reading and analyzing books, especially classic literature. Charles Dickens is my homeboy, and Jane Austen is my LADY!! I like to think I'm pretty funny, (mostly because I actually am), and I love making people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because this gospel is just so true!! I have become a better, more loving, more patient person because of this gospel. This church and its programs and my experiences here have helped me to know and draw closer to my Savior. I love the Atonement, and attending church has helped me to better understand and apply it to my life. I don't know where I would be without the gospel, and honestly, I don't want to think about it! I love who I am because of the knowledge that I have, and I love who I am continuing to become. I know that all who read the Book of Mormon and pray to Heavenly Father, asking in faith, TRULY wanting to know if this church is true, will receive an answer. It's not that God CAN answer our prayers, or he MIGHT answer our questions, but that HE WILL! This has been my experience in all my life growing up in the church and finding out of it's truthfulness for myself, and I know it will be the experience of all who search to find the truth.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am preparing to serve a full-time mission for the LDS church in the México México City Northwest Mission! I am so excited and absolutely terrified, but I know that Heavenly Father will help me be the best Hermana that I can be, and that the more I rely on Him, the more people I will be able to help bring closer to Him. I am taking some mission prep classes taught by former missionaries, and I. am. loving. it. We do role-playing, where we pretend like we're talking to an investigator and try to help them with their problems. It's a lot like acting, so I love it, but it can be super hard, so I hate it. There are definitely some mixed feelings involved. I'm also a ward missionary in my singles' ward, and I love working with our sister missionaries. Seeing people who have never read the Book of Mormon before, learn and GROW and recieve answers to their prayers and eventually make the covenant to be baptized is so exciting for me to see. I love seeing their happiness and joy, and it definitely builds my own! I can't wait to serve my own mission!!
