Hi I'm Ashley

I love music, I speak Spanish and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love my family, my twin sister and I are the oldest of five girls. I am a college student and I love it! In high school I did a lot of music related activities. I loved marching and concert band, chorus and piano. Music has always been a part of me. I love how it makes me feel and how I can express my self through it. I also love the beach and anything palm tree of Florida related. I am currently serving a mission in the beautiful Colorado Denver South mission where I get to teach in the Spanish language!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because I have come to know that it is true. I love the gospel and the peace and happiness it brings to my life and to the lives of the people I love. I feel His love in the quiet moments when I read the scriptures or play hymns on the piano. One of the times I have felt His love the strongest is when I played an arrangement of the hymn "In Humility, Our Savior" on Easter Sunday. I see God's hand in my life and know that He loves and watches over me. I want to follow my Savior Jesus Christ and am humbled by the experience I was able to have of serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that it is the key to happiness now and always. Only through the gospel can I be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I have served on the activities committee to help plan fun parties and events for our congregation. I enjoy attending church meetings and associating with the people there. They strengthen my testimony and help me be a better person. I love teaching and sharing what makes me happy. From my mission in Colorado I have learned just how much we need our Savior Jesus Christ. Because of Him we can be happy, we can overcome every trial and challenge in our lives. I have experienced and felt His love and grace. I live my faith by trying my best to spread His love and be like Him.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Ashley
We dress in modest clothing, we do this to show respect for our bodies and for the people around us. On a typical sunday I would wear a knee-length (or longer) skirt and a shirt or blouse with sleeves that is not low cut. We love holidays! We celebrate Christmas, Easter and many more. On Christmas we celebrate Christ's birth and on Easter we celebrate his life and resurrection. Show more Show less
