Hi I'm Steve Shumaker

I am a husband, father, full time student, combat veteran, and youth leader. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I kind of a prepper on a low budget. I enjoy HAM radio, shooting sports, camping, teaching, learning, geocaching, and SCUBA diving. My career in the Army made me a helicopter mechanic, but when that ended suddenly I returned to college. I am now studying to become a lawyer.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but wandered during my late teens and early twenties. As I returned I learned to value so much more the teachings of the Gospel. I have learned to walk my path toward God, and Jesus Christ, and I am learning everyday to be more Christlike. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has blessed my life in so many ways. I am grateful that I too, am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a volunteer leader of boys aged 12-18. Some might call me a youth pastor, but in my faith i am called a Young Men's President. I really enjoy helping the boys to find their path as they learn to follow Christ on their own. I also treasure the experience that I am having as I raise my own children. Seeing them learn and grow everyday is something that I missed so much of, when I was in the Army, but now I am so blessed to be there for everything.
