Hi I'm Gabrielle Ellis

I'm a college student, a traveler, a beach bum and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm loving life as a BYU student here in Provo. I grew up in South Florida surrounded by a great cultural diversity. My mothers cuban background has added for lots of fun and noise around the house along with that of my awesome dad and three siblings. I love to play volleyball and spend time outside. Disney was the basis of my childhood and is still a part of me .... I never want to grow up. The beach is my second home and I love to soak up the sun's rays.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon brings me the most happiness. The church has taught me about my purpose here on Earth and what will happen in the life to come. I have a testimony of Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped me to see Gods love for me each and every day. I know that God loves us so much that he has given us a living prophet who directs and guides the members of the church. The standards of the church are not easy to keep sometimes but I know that the blessings you receive when following Gods commandments is much greater that any temporal happiness. Growing up in an area with not that many people of my faith gave me the opportunity to share the gospel with many, especially my classmates. Everyone could tell i was different because they never heard me use bad language, I never dressed immodestly and I always had a smile on my face. By being different I was able to share my testimony with others. Being a Mormon has helped me to know that when experiencing trials on this Earth I can rely on my Heavenly Father for the strength I need. I have had so many of my prayers answered and I have seen countless tender mercies from the Lord. Being a member of this church has made my purpose on this Earth very clear and has made me think in a more eternal perspective. I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

How I live my faith

As a young single adult at BYU there are so many ways to reach out to others and bless there lives. There are countless opportunities to serve roommates and to help other members in your ward who may at times feel homesick or may be going through a trial on there own. One of the ways i'm able to share my testimony with those around me is through my calling as a Relief Society Instructor. As an instructor in this great program I am able to prepare a lesson and strengthen my testimony. Then I get the privilege of sharing the truths of the gospel with other young women my age who are experiencing the same things I am while being alone at college. Being an example is the greatest way to share your faith with others. By the way that I speak, dress and associate with others I try to help them feel the spirit and feel of Christ's love for them.
