Hi I'm James

I study biology, I love sports, I served in the military, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Taiwan but grew up in several places. I'm also the eldest kid in my family. During my free time, I enjoy playing sports, especially baseball, and participating in outdoor activities (I'm an Eagle scout). I love traveling, meeting new people and hanging out with friends. I studied biology at BYU-Idaho and served in the Taiwan armed forces as a military police. Now I serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Scotland/Ireland mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member for as long as I could remember. My mother is the first to join the church in our family. The gospel was introduced to her by two friendly missionaries in Taiwan. Because of her faith, my father, my brothers and I all got baptized. Even though I began attending church from a young age, it doesn't automatically qualify me as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I've spent my entire life developing and strengthening my testimony of the Book of Mormon, the church and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know they are all true! The Book of Mormon is a record that contains the word of God, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restoration of Jesus's original church. He is truly the son of God, and that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

As a follower of Jesus Christ, I'm trying to be like Him in every aspect of life. It's not easy and I'm far from perfect, but by showing kindness and love towards others, I'm able to find joy even in times of trial and distress. I am now preparing myself to become a full-time missionary, it's a heavy responsibility, but I know I am not alone. I pray that through my service, I will be able to influence others and help them understand that there is a God out there, He loves us, and wants us to be happy.
