Hi I'm Shawn

I was born and raised in Cache Valley Utah and have lived in North Logan my whole life. I've been a Mormon since birth.

About Me

I'm a Mormon man who enjoys sports, outdoors, and being with my wife. My favorite part of the day is being with my wife. I graduated from college and before I went to college I served a two year mission in Brazil. My mission was the best two years for my life because I got to share the gospel of my Lord Jesus Christ and gained a lot of love for the people in Brazil and I gained an understanding of life and maturity quicker in those two years than I would if I didn't serve a mission. I love helping others and working with people. My favorite sport to play is football. I can't get enough of football because it's fun and I discovered a lot about myself that I didn't know. It taught me about life and the true meaning of earning success. I'm not a dad yet, but can't wait for the day when I am. My wife is the greatest thing in my life and having our family will be the most rewarding thing on this earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. My parents taught me since I was little to the teachings of Jesus Christ. This stuck with me until I was 12 years old. I didn't know what it meant to absolutely know the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and actually have a testimony that it was true before I turned 12 because I followed my parents lead. When I turned 12 I began to feel in my heart that I needed to know for myself like everyone else did. I started to give my daily prayers, scripture study, and every church attendance more intent in my life. I sought for the answer by asking Heavenly Father if this was right. Was I following the steps of Jesus Christ and being guided by his Church; the one church that he created when he lived here on this earth? As I prayed with real intent and unwavering faith I received an answer that it is true. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has molded me to become the man Jesus wants me to be, the man that a daughter of God deserves to have married to her, and the man which stands against evil. I know it is true and it's led by a prophet that is the mouth piece of God. I know that God lives and that he loves us and we are his children. He knows us individually and will help us through the hard times we experience on earth. I know that families are eternal and can be together forever and it's because Jesus Christ overcame physical death when he died and was resurrected and he overcame spiritual death when he took upon himself the sins of all mankind so that we can become clean as we repent. This is my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in accordance to the commandants of God. I'm not perfect and no one on the earth is perfect. But I strive to be better and be willing to obey them. I attend church regularly by going every Sunday to learn more about Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know my life is blessed as I consistently attend my religious services. More importantly than just going to those religious services, I strive to follow what I learned in my meetings and the lessons in my classes because that helps me to become the person my Savior wants me to be. Not only do I go to Church every Sunday, I also have daily prayers and scripture reading with my wife. This has strengthened our relationship in our marriage, but it also strengthens our relationship with our Heavenly Father. We also do these things in our personal time because our Heavenly Father wants to have one on one with us and he is very interested in whats going on in our lives. I'm grateful for this because there are times when I'm going through a difficult hardship and I feel alone and no one else truly understands what I'm going through because they are not feeling exactly what I'm feeling. I always know that Heavenly Father understands and he knows me better than anyone else. I will receive divine help from him and that gives me comfort and reason.
