Hi I'm Garry

I was born in England. Marrying my sweetheart in the Manti Utah Temple on February 25 of 2014.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church. I enjoy time with family and friends and getting to know my ancestors. One of the best ways was playing games around the table with my parents and grandparents. Who knows someday you may hear of a suitcase that is out in a shed or a barn that contains precious memories about your ancestors. I recently found such a treasure that let me get to know my grandfather's grandfather, my great great grandfather. There was even pictures of his cousin and his dad that had all served in the military of the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

I had been going to a Baptist church in my area for almost two years when I finally Inquired about joining their church and being baptized. During the interview with the pastor, he questioned me about what I knew about the Book of Mormon? I was not feeling very welcome and began to question in my mind if I was making the right choice. I left that interview feeling confused and hurt, after all I had been in church with them for two years every Sunday. It was the July of 1987 and I walked out of the church with a prayer in my heart. I asked Heavenly Father "If this is not the church I am supposed to join, which church is it?" The response I got was "The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, my church is everywhere for all my people to attend." It was not until seven years later that I joined the Church on September 4th 1994. Since then I have had my testimony strengthen that this is the Church that Heavenly Father would have his children attend and confirms what I was told that July of 1987. The Church is world wide and in most not all countries, but the Lord's work is going forth to the four corners of the world.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, follow the teaching of our savior Jesus Christ and the prophet of our Church, currently Thomas S Monson. The last is very special to me, in that it answered my childhood question growing up, "If God is the same yesterday, today and forever, why was he not talking to us today?" The answer was fulfilled when I joined the church and learned that there is a Prophet that leads and guides the people on earth.
