Hi I'm Jessica

I am a student. I am a dancer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an optimistic, fun-loving student in Utah. I have also lived in Hawaii and Arizona. I absolutely love to dance! Contemporary styles are my favorite, but I also take ballet. Currently, I am a freshman majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics. I love going to class and learning new things. Meeting new people is also a hobby of mine. Sometimes it is awkward, but most times it is just fun! I love to laugh and make jokes; I think everyone should laugh at least once a day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon makes me happy. Reading the Book of Mormon makes me smile in the morning and keeps me happy throughout the day. I can only smile when I think of the love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for me. When I follow the commandments, I see great blessings come into my life. Every Sunday I go to church for 3 hours, and I love each minute. I have learned that my life has a purpose, and that makes me feel fulfilled. I have seen mercies and miracles in my life that have made me smile, even in times of great sadness. I am grateful to know that this church is true. I know that God is my Heavenly Father. I know He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to come to Earth and atone for all of our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God and the Book of Mormon is true. I know we have prophets alive today who lead the church, and I am so grateful for their guidance in my life. All these things that I know are extremely important to me. This knowledge of the truth makes me happy, and it leads me to make decisions that will perpetuate that happiness.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live what I believe. Each day, I wake up early so I can get ready for the day, read my scriptures, and pray to my Heavenly Father. Throughout the day, I follow His commandments, so I can have His spirit to be with me. In this way, I try to be a good example for my friends and peers. I also enjoy serving others. I love to listen to people when they have had a bad day, help them up when they have slipped on some ice (this happens a lot in Utah), or let my friends borrow a dress or some cute shoes when they are going on a date. My calling in my ward is to give service. I helped make cute birthday presents for our ward members and visited a girl whose Grandpa passed away. I love to give service, just like Jesus Christ did when He came to earth. As I help other people, I feel closer to my Savior, and I even get blessings in return.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures bring me peace and joy. They teach me incredible lessons about what is right, how I can improve myself, and why I should have faith. As I truly ponder and study them, I can feel myself grow closer to God. My worries fade away as I read, and when I am finished, I am blessed with the strength to face the day and accomplish what I need to. Reading the scriptures brings the spirit into my life. Honestly, the blessings are amazing and very real. The best way to find out about these blessings though, is to try it out. Study and ponder the scriptures in the morning for a couple weeks and count all the blessings you receive. Show more Show less
