Hi I'm Joel

I'm from Arizona. I love playing backyard baseball with my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outside in the fresh air. I enjoy riding my bicycle, playing racquetball and running around with my kids. I'm happiest when spending time with my wife and my children. We feel that a day is not complete until some kind of game or sport has been played. Recently we made a miniature baseball field in our backyard and play as much as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teen I struggled with the fact that I didn't understand God. I was raised by amazing parents who made sure my sister and I knew that we were loved. We did not however go to church. There were a couple of times we tried to get involved but it never seemed to stick. Like me, my parents didn't have a religious background so fitting it seemed difficult. While in high school I found myself spending more and more time with my Mormon friends. I liked how they acted and knew that while I was with them I'd make good choices. At some point I was spending all my free time with them and wanted to learn more about their beliefs. I met with Mormon missionaries and found that what I'd always wanted to believe about God was true. For the first time I related to God and knew that I could speak to Him through prayer. He does listen and He cares about me and gave me a purpose filled life. I know that my relationship with my wife is special and that I'm to treasure her always, she is my best friend. I know that being a parent is great responsibility and I do my very best to be a good dad to my children. I've grown closer to God and understand that Jesus is my Savior. I know that in life we fall short but that we can be made whole through Jesus Christ and his sacrifice. I will be forever grateful to Mormon friends from my youth who chose to live in such a way that allowed me to feel safe and loved.

How I live my faith

Currently I participate in our church men's group where we dedicate our time to look after one another and help in our community. We find joy in caring for others and know that it allows us to grow closer to God.
