Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in East Texas. I went to Texas A&M University....Gig' em! And now I'm a wife and mother of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am pretty normal, just like any other mom out there. I love my kids. I love my husband. And I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My Dad actually converted to the Church when I was a baby. I will always be grateful to him for that amazing decision that has forever changed my life for the better. I grew up on some land out in East Texas and continued my education after high school at Texas A&M University. I love that school! It is part of me :) I am now living my dream. I am married to the kindest man I have ever met. I have two beautiful kids that I am blessed to stay home with every day to raise. We are a pretty low key family...lots of movies, hanging out with friends and family, and being actively involved in Church in whatever capacity we are needed. We have a great life that is enriched by the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everything in the Gospel makes sense. The things we are taught fit in seamlessly with how I believe our Heavenly Father would want us to live. It gives us room to grow, to make mistakes and to become one with our Savior. It teaches me of my purpose here on earth and gives me the courage to do what's right in a world that accepts and lauds what is wrong. I love this Church and the hope and happiness it gives me.

How I live my faith

I have the great opportunity to work with the Young Women (youth) in our ward (congregation). They are amazing and inspire me every day. They are so strong in their own personal lives which is amazing to me because of how corrupt the world seems to be turning. I strive to live my life in this same way....to be steadfast and stalwart in my faith in Jesus Christ and always look to Him for strength. My motto for this year was taught in a recent conference we had for the women in our area. They said to take note of the "sacred moments" and treasure them. Life is all about finding joy in the journey; joy in those small moments that may seem insignificant, but have long-term effects. I strive to live the Gospel by serving those around me and being the best possible Mother and Wife I can be. I teach my children right from wrong, how to treat others, and how to lean on our Heavenly Father for guidance. This is my purpose in life and I am so grateful that I have been entrusted with such a sacred responsibility and role as a Mother.
