Hi I'm Shelby

I love cupcakes, dancing, and hot dogs roasted over a campfire!

About Me

I love to spend time with my family! I am very close with all of my aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins! We all enjoy spending the holidays together snowmobiling. I also love to dance! I danced at a local dance studio for 15 years and then danced on a collegiate-level team for 1 year. I have been called to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas Lubbock Mission and will report June 2014!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been raised faithfully in the LDS church. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. My parents have always strived to make our home centered around Christ and to keep the sweet spirit within the walls of our home. I am so grateful to be a member of this church because it brings me so much happiness. I know that the Book of Mormon is the truest book here on Earth. I am grateful for the revelation that our modern day prophet receives from God.

How I live my faith

I try my best everyday to be a good example to those around me. I feel that it's by the small and simple things that we do each day that develop us into the person we would like to become. I strive to be Christ-like every day and feel at peace when I attend the temple. I love being a member of this church and enjoy sharing it with others!

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Shelby
The Word of Wisdom is a law of health that we abide by to keep our bodies and minds healthy. In 1833 when Jospeh Smith was our current prophet, he recieved revelation from God that we needed to refrain from using harmful substances in order to keep our precious bodies healthy. We belive that we were given our bodies as a gift from God, so we should always strive to keep them in their best condition. In order to live a healthier lifestyle, we have been taught not to consume tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, or any illegal drugs. Avoiding the use of these addictive substances may seem very difficult, but with the help of Heavenly Father, we can do anything. Show more Show less
