Hi I'm Parker Murray

I love laughing, running, and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Parker, and I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as a "Mormon." I am currently a college student studying computer science and physics. I have a strong affinity for street food, 80s music, old movies, photography, long distance running, and learning new things! Although it's not always easy, I love experiencing this adventure we call life with the each and every day with those around me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know that Jesus Christ loves us and can carry us through even the most difficult of times. Because of Him, we really can change. Because of Him, we don't have to be the same as we always have been. Because of Him, tomorrow really can be better than yesterday. Because of the love and life of Jesus Christ, my life has meaning and purpose that can keep me anchored even in the worst of times. He has enabled us to improve, to progress, and to strengthen others in turn. I never have a doubt about where I'm going in life, because I know there is a plan, a roadmap, whose purpose is our eternal happiness!

How I live my faith

There are many ways, big and small, in which I live out my faith from day-to-day. With everything from attending Church for 3 hours every Sunday, to praying to my Heavenly Father for guidance and strength, to serving for the last two years of my life in South Korea as a missionary, being a "Mormon" can seem really busy! The way I see it though, the most important way I live my faith is something much smaller. I have learned in this Church that all people, regardless of background or lifestyle, are children of our Heavenly Father, with infinite worth. All people, without exception, deserve to feel valued, loved, and needed. This is the essence of Jesus Christ's teachings. I live my faith by trying to serve and love those God has entrusted to my care, whether they be my close family and friends or those who I simply come into contact with in my day-to-day life.

What is the priesthood?

Parker Murray
The priesthood is the authority to act as Christ did when he was on the earth. All worthy male members of the church can hold the priesthood, and ALL members, male and female, are entitled to it's blessings. Those who hold it have a sacred responsibility to be Christlike, to serve their fellow beings, and to perform church ordinances. Show more Show less
