Hi I'm Tami

I do not remember not having a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ. I live in Taylorsville, Utah. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 50 years old and in September of 2014, I will become a first time college graduate! It has been a long journey. I have been so blessed through this journey with knowledge that I did not think was possible. I was scared when I made the decision to return to school. I was single and knew that I needed to do something to better my self and help me reach my goals. I love life! I love people! I love this world that our Father in Heaven has given us to enjoy and be a part of! Utah is home to some of the most amazing scenery and being a participant of this scenery and beauty is where I find balance in my life. The Salt Lake Valley has mountains on each side of the valley. As a little girl my father taught me to use those mountains as directional guides in determining North, South, East and West. Those mountains truly became a part of my life and more than just my guide. They became place for me to go to in time of struggles. I felt close to God in those mountains. I still do! I love them. I remember coming home from my mission and as the plane flew over those mountains, tears started rolling down my cheeks. Yes, I was looking forward to seeing my family who I had missed, but those tears were actually tears of joy, because I had missed "my mountains!"

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored and is on the earth today! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is such an enormous part of my life. I have found joy, peace and happiness in the Gospel. It is the blood in my veins and the air that I breathe. It has sustained me when I did not think I could stand on my own. I love knowing that that there is a purpose for my life! There is joy in this life! There is a plan that will guides us back home to a loving, kind Father in Heaven. That I can be reunited with my dear sweet mother who passed away 14 years ago. That I may live with my family forever! That death is not the end! My Savior Jesus Christ lives! He atoned for my sins that I may repent and be forgiven. He is not only my Savior, but my friend. I am grateful for the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. He has guided, comforted supported, prompted and been with me when I have felt that I was alone in the world. Through Him, I know that Heavenly Father is real, that He lives and loves me! That Jesus Christ is my Savior and that there is a living prophet on this earth to guide us and direct us. That prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. I love him and know that he is a true prophet of God.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important part of my life! I mentioned of my love for the mountains, when I was younger and before I was able to attend the Temple, those mountains where my 'Temple'. I sought our Father in Heaven in prayer there, and He taught me through the whisperings of the Spirit. Now as an adult I find much joy and peace in the 'Mountain of the Lord', His House, the Temple! It is a beautiful refuge from the storms of this world. I have served in many callings in the church, but I so enjoy serving the children and youth of the church. I love the opportunity of teaching these choice spirits of our Father in Heaven. I love being in their presence and learning from them! I have not had the opportunity of having my own children, but my Father in Heaven has given me so many children to love and nurture! I love the opportunities of serving the sisters in my ward. They are amazing, talented, strong, spiritual women! We all face challenges and it is wonderful to know that we can work side by side through these challenges and strengthen one another. Working hand in hand with the Priesthood to further the work of the Lord is truly a wonderful blessing. I have had opportunities of volunteering in my community in places such as homeless shelters and with town parades.
