Hi I'm Elyse

I've grown up in the Utah Rocky Mountains. I am a student and in the Air Force ROTC. I'm a Mormon, I live it, I love it!

About Me

I am a current student at a university studying Archaeology. I am in the Air Force ROTC and training to be an officer in the United States Air Force! I have many titles I identify myself as, some of those include, an artist, a big sister, a student, an airman, a musician, an athlete... among all these the title I have become most fond of is I am a Mormon. A daughter of God a seeker and keeper of truth, purity, and service.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up not quite understanding my self worth. In my early years of living on my own I became inactive from the church. I sought fulfillment for voids in my heart through many worldly things thinking they would bring me happiness. I came to the point that I felt so empty inside I didn't know where to turn. That's when I turned to the Lord. I so desperately desired rest for my soul and the gaping wounds of my past to be healed I turned to him. I decided to turn my life around, to start going back to church and at least trying to live the commandments. Within the time frame of about a year I cannot express the incredible changes I went through. I found that by living the commandments I developed a wholeness within. I discovered self worth more than I even realized I was missing. I developed a strong testimony of the importance of modesty and moral purity. Line upon line, precept upon precept I had experiences and people sent to me that taught me these things. I look back and see how it all started with a choice to try. To take the teeniest bit of faith I did have and move forward. By taking action to follow the savior through the beautiful precept and commandment within this church my faith grew and grew and flourished into a sacred anchor I have in my Savior and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel so blessed to have come so far and look forward to the growth and experiences that are ahead of me. I know Heavenly Father loves me because in my unworthiness he accepted the small faith I did have and with that divinely led me to be close to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by number one service to my family. I do all I can to care for my treasured younger siblings. My goal is to instill self worth and confidence in their lives as well as in the lives of everyone I interact with. To me that is the greatest way to share Gods love. It is important to me to honor everyone I know, from the people I work with, my family, to the people I cross on the streets daily!
