Hi I'm Hayden Boyter

I grew up in Oregon, I am serving a mission for my church, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Hayden. I love Minecraft, computer programming, swimming, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in South Carolina. I grew up is Roseburg, Oregon. I love my family, my calling, and this Gospel. I love the Savior and my Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I personally was raised in the church by my two lovely parents! They raised me as best that one can raise a hyper-hyper (see what I did there?) kid like me. Eventually there came a point where I was at a fork in the road. One road led to the world; it was bright, flashy, and seemed to ooze with fun and happiness. The other led to a mission and things that seemed to be boring and restricting. However, that was the road that so many people who I admired and respected had taken and they seemed to be ok. After some soul searching and deep pondering, I decided that I would try the "boring" path before I would break from what I had been taught all my life. I decided to read, cover to cover, the Book of Mormon, something I had never done before. It took a while, but all that time I saw all these things that I had learned from my toddler years to my teen years fall into place. It was as if a giant puzzle were being put together before my eyes; all the dots connecting. Finally, I finished and knelt before my Maker to ask the final question: Is this true? It was at that moment that I knew, beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was. I knew what path to take now. I began from that moment down the "boring" path, a path that has brought me greater peace and joy that anything the world could have offered me! AND it is fun too, the wholesome, self-esteem building kind of fun! :)

How I live my faith

Right now I am a missionary, so every day I go and talk to random strangers about what I believe and why I believe it! It is the best, most difficult, most rewarding, not to mention tiring, thing I have ever done! I'll be a missionary for two years (2014 to 2016) and I hope to make the best of every minute! I have served as a leader in the youth and as a Boy Scout leader. I wish I'd have treated those with more seriousness, but I'm sure that I'll be given more responsabilities as time goes on! That is the beauty of this church! A lay clergy means that everyone gets to bear the weight of running the church! It also makes us feel much more involved in its operation when we have a "dog in the fight" so to speak.
