Hi I'm Michelle Taysom

I grew up on a farm in a rural town in Idaho. I want to travel the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 5 children. I grew up on a farm in a very small town in Idaho. My favorite thing about working on the farm was the time I got to spend with my family. My favorite thing about where I grew up was being able to watch the sunset and seeing the stars at night. I'm a college student studying business management. I love to listen to music. I hope one day to travel the world. I love to learn and try new things. I love my family and I'm very grateful for technology in my life so that I can stay connected with them. My second language is laughter, which I do a lot whenever I'm with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me happiness and gives my life purpose. I grew up in the church. I learned the gospel from my parents and was baptized when I was 8. My parents never forced the church on me. When I was younger it was definitely a family thing to go to church but when I got older my parents gave me the choice as to whether or not I wanted to go. At first I just went because It's what I always did but I didn't really understand why. As I got older I decided that that answer wasn't good enough for me anymore. I decided that I would read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true for myself. I put my faith in God and he answered my prayers. I felt it burning inside me. There was a reason that I felt good going to church and it wasn't just because my parents believed that it was true. I knew for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church. This knowledge brought a sense of peace and happiness during a really hard time in my life. The knowledge of the gospel gave me hope again. Hope for my future, hope for my family, and hope for others. Now I know for myself that I have Heavenly Father who loves me. And now I hope to help others to feel of His love for them.

How I live my faith

I'm living my faith by making the decision to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will be serving in Columbus, Ohio. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ. I live my faith by teaching others that God loves them, and that He sent His son Jesus Christ to save all man kind. I want others to know that they are loved and not forgotten. I'm excited to be serving my mission and to do God's work.
