Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a convert and I just love the Mormon faith!!!

About Me

I am a typical south african girl who loves the sights and sounds of nature. I love life and find it very important to live it positively. I am considered to be a bubbly person. I love working with childern and I am currently studying to become a teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the Mormon faith but never got baptised till recently at the wonderful age of 23. I am a convert and I love my faith. It was always a part of my life and has helped me a lot in life. I was blessed with the opportunity to come to america for a year to aupair. This was a really tough decision for me to make as back in south Africa is my family, I was engaged and just started a new teaching job aswell. I had just moved out of my folks house 7 weeks before this opportunity. My fiance motivated me to come as it was my dream. So I came to sunny san diego. I was alone and I remembered my dad saying to me find a lds church and you will be ok and I am ok. I was in the states for 6 weeks when my fiance passed away. It was the worst feeling and I still up to today carry a hole in my heart. It took me by surprise and I found myself finding an appreciation for life. I was alone in a new country going through this and I met with 2 wonderful sister missionaries who helped me find my ward. I realised I wasn't alone. His death gave me strength to want to lead a better life and in my heart I knew following Christ is the right life for me. I finally got baptised and it was a breath of fresh air . I felt new!!! This was my do over in life and I promised myself I will lead my life doing whats right as accepting Heavenly Father in my life has been the best feeling and best decision I could make as I am blessed to be in the states and to be doing the wonderful work I am doing.

How I live my faith

I love my YSA ward!!! I love participating in our activites as it keeps me motivated on attending on sundays. I love my friends I have made in this ward as they keep a person going. I currently received my calling as visiting teaching supervisor. I feel so privileged as having a calling gives me more purpose and makes me feel worthy to be there.
