Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Texas. I love Music and History. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native Texan and love my home state. I have been called to serve in the Montana Billings Mission and report April 2, 2014. I am so excited for this opportunity to serve the lord and bring others to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I love History and am working on my Bachelors in History but have taken a year off to prepare financially for my mission. Currently I am working full-time for a mobile service provider and live with my wonderful mother, sister, and brother. My mother and church leaders have been so instrumental in my maturation both spiritually and temporally and I thank my Heavenly Father for the blessing that they are.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born to good parents who were active members of Christ's restored church on the Earth. We were blessed spiritually, financially, and with love at home. At the age of eight, the age of accountability, I was baptized a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost, one of the most marvelous blessings received in this life. As I reached maturity however I began to have doubts. I strayed from the church for a time but one thing became clear, I was not happy. The clear road map to my destination, Eternal Life and happiness had been taken away and I became lost and discouraged. It took me time but I learned from experience that my happiness was with the Lord, not with my new-found "freedoms". Slowly but surely, line upon line, truth upon truth, I regained my testimony while once again attending church and serving my fellow men. It is the joy of my heart to be able to share my testimony that Christ lives. He is our savior and redeemer and only through His atonement are we able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that by learning to serve others the way our savior did and focusing less on our own selfish desires will fill our hearts with charity and bless our lives in ways we can't even imagine. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by the power of God through Joseph Smith. This sacred scripture is another testament of Jesus Christ and that a man can draw closer to God by this book, than by any other book. I know it is true because I have prayed with a sincere heart, asking in Faith if it is true and I have received a powerful and very personal witness by the Spirit that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that only by direct revelation was the fullness of the gospel restored on the Earth. I know that their is a living prophet today, that his name is Thomas S. Monson, and that he speaks the words of the Lord. The restored gospel brings happiness! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at its core, is a church dedicated to the truth that "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17) Christ's ministry was wholly dedicated to teaching His gospel and the blessing of the sick, the afflicted, the weary, and the downtrodden. Likewise members of the church find service through callings, hometeaching, and giving blessings to those who are sick or in need of guidance. I have been called to the office of Sunday School President which entails the overseeing and coordinating of Sunday School classes taught each Sunday about the basic principles and doctrine of Christ, the sacred ordinance of Marriage and blessing of family, and Missionary Preparation. The blessings I have received from this responsibility have truly transformed my heart and grown my love for my Father in Heaven, my Savior, and my family and friends. Service is love.
