Hi I'm Jennica

I grew up in Arizona. I love basketball and music. I have 3 sisters. I'm a nursing student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love to play basketball and other sports. I enjoy exercise like running, swimming, and weight lifting. I also adore music and play the piano and flute pretty well. I was fortunate to grow up learning them. I like to scrapbook and cooking is my new favorite hobby. I am getting pretty gourmet if you ask me! I am now married to my best friend. We got sealed in the St. George temple. I am currently enrolled in nursing school and am anxious to become a nurse. I love the medical field. I also love skydiving and roller coasters. The rush is totally exhilarating! I also love to make people laugh, especially if they are going through a hard time. If I can get a person to smile it just makes my whole day! Life is more fun if you're laughing through it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in this gospel and always knew it was true. I have always tried to stay close to the teachings and doctrines not only because it is what I have grown up with but because it just psychologically makes sense. For example the word of wisdom, don't drink because it's bad for you. Of course! It makes sense. I was born into a family of all girls. It was always me and my three sisters, me being the second child. My dad left our family when I was 4, so my mom raised us by herself for some years. She got remarried when I was 10 to my step-dad who helped raise us for the next 10 years. He unfortunately passed away suddenly two weeks after I moved to college. Going through this time was tough, I didn't really know anyone and I was drastically upset and distracted. I cried for days and just prayed that I would find comfort. At this time my husband was serving his mission and I wasn't living at home so I felt totally alone. One day I remember sobbing into my sheets asking why this happened and I could feel a warmth surround me. I knew I wasn't alone, even though I felt like it. I was able to pick myself up and get through this tough time even though I felt like the only soul going through this pain. I know that my Heavenly Father is always watching out for me. There have been many times I have seen His hand in my life and I cannot deny the fact that He has always been there for me when so many people have either walked out or passed on. I love this gospel and having a knowledge that there is a point to life and there is more to life than just this mortal existence. There is more beyond the grave. We aren't just here to die, we are here to learn, grow and become more perfect every day. I know that He lives and loves us. He has watched over me and helped me in more ways that I can even express. I love my Heavenly Father and have a testimony of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I have volunteered at a hospice center in St. George, Utah. I liked getting out there and making a difference, especially with those who are at the end of their life. It is such a learning experience to watch someone and get to know them while they are at the end. You gain a whole different respect for the elderly and learn to love them just for being them. I also got the amazing experience to be a CNA at the Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah. Being able to serve them everyday was such a blessing to me. It definitely solidified my yearning to work in the medical field. It gave me the chance to constantly serve people everyday. That is the best feeling in the world.
