Hi I'm Kay

I was born in Washington DC and raised in Arlington, VA. Wife of 48 years, mother, and grandmother. I am a Mormon

About Me

Graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education. Taught in public schools with Fairfax County, Virginia for 5 years. Opened a nutritional weight loss franchise in 1974 with multiple offices. Love working with people. Now, I am involved with a rewards program for children in Pediatric Dental offices, hospitals, and school. I enjoy being involved with growing a business. My husband of 48 years and I have five children and 16 grandchildren who live all over the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into my faith. My parents had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know their testimony was strong because they lived Christ like lives and were kind of loving in every respect. I wanted to acquire my own testimony and I have. I know it is through day to day living and trying my best that I have felt my Savior's love. Whether, it is reading the scriptures, praying, or attending church each Sunday, or attending our Temple, I feel a basically good feeling. I know that comes from God. Of course, I have had discouraging times, stressful times, and at times wonder why these bad things or feelings happen. However, I know that I and all of us are being tested and need to turn to our faith to Jesus Christ. Words or writing about the Atonement of Jesus Christ are never adequate. It am just so grateful that Christ did live and did die for my sins and all of mankind's sins. I know I must try each day to live better and follow his example as best I can. I fall short but know that he wants me to succeed so I keep trying. I know his hands are always extended out for me and all of humanity. I also know that there has been a restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Indeed, God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days. And now we not only have the Gospel restored but living Prophets and apostles on the earth today, just as it was in the time Christ preached and lived on the earth. These thoughts and feelings are in my heart and mind. I will forever be grateful for this Testimony and know that it must and is nurtured every day.

How I live my faith

God, family, and country determine my lifestyle. I love going to my church congregation every Sunday. They are my dear friends and I know they are interested in my well being. I also want the very best for them as well as my neighbors and community associates. Over the years I have taught youth and adult Sunday school classes and love studying the Scriptures so as to bring good discussions in the classes I teach. I love music. Church music I find particularly soothing to my soul and helps me express my testimony of Jesus Christ and God our Father. I also, over the years, have played the organ for our congregations. I find great joy in playing the organ while our congregation sings praises to God. There is great unity of faith in all singing songs of joy, testimony, and gratitude of Christ and to God our Father. I have served as a youth camp leader. Being out in nature and seeing God's creations along with the enthusiasm of our youth makes camping have much more purposeful. Our children and family brings me incredible joy. I so appreciate their loyalty to our faith.
