Hi I'm Cine Louise

I grew up in Connecticut. I'm always happy...well except for Saturdays at Noon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am #6 of 7 children and I am a nurse. I am currently working in patient resource management while going back to school for my masters. I love to travel and spent the majority of my 30's travelling throughout the United States. I am a Black American and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was around 11 or 12 my father told my younger brother and I we didn't have to attend church anymore. We were told we could join any church we wanted or not join any. He said he would support our decision especially if we proved we had read and researched. I read the Bible (I was a bit of a nerd and a serious tomboy), the Baha'i Faith's most Holy Book, and the Book of Mormon over the next few years. I don't remember all of the readings and don't remember all of the scriptures but I do remember how I felt. Reading the Book of Mormon gave me a sense of peace, a sense of rightness. Maybe this was the still small voice and I just didn't hear it.....considering I was 13 by now and, of course, new everything! All I know was the Book of Mormon was right and true. I remember joining the church and having my father and mother support me in my decision ever since. I remember becoming inactive and having my father, by now a non-believer in any organized religion, order me to "get back to church, brat". I remember always feeling comfort (as I traveled throughout the states alone) that I could go to any LDS stake center and be welcomed and be safe. I truly believe in Heavenly Father's plan of salvation. Living as Jesus Christ lived is key to our religion. We must strive every day to be as loving, forgiving, and caring of ourselves and our fellow man as He was. We are not yet perfect. We are here to learn to be more like Him. Through the gift of choice and accountability we are humbled and taught the necessary lessons. We are His children and He loves us deeply. Because of this deep love, He has given us a living prophet, first in Joseph Smith and now in President Monson, prophet and leader of this church; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Though there have been times I have doubted myself (and still do), I have never doubted the truth of this church and the truth in our scriptures, the Restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I recently was released as a primary teacher and now get to attend Sunday School. I am a visiting teacher....although I am striving to be a much better VT than I have been.
