Hi I'm Gary

I grew up in Riverside, Idaho. I am the 4th of 5 children. I have a wonderful wife and 5 children; 4 girls and a son.

About Me

I was born in the LDS faith. I love sports. My favorite to play was basketball. My favorite to watch is football. I love the outdoors. When I was a youth I wanted to be a mountain man. I served a mission to the Kentucky - Louisville Mission. I am married and have 5 children; 4 girls and a son. I served and retired from the U.S. Navy. I work in electronics for a cheese manufacturing company.

Why I am a Mormon

As explained, I grew up in the church and went to church and church activities every week with my family. When I entered High School, I enrolled in seminary. I learn a lot about church doctrine. I could explain what we believed to anyone who would ask. After I graduated, my Bishop asked me if I would go on a mission. I submitted my papers. I began to ask myself if I could really testify to the truth of what I could explain. I knew that Moroni had given a very special promise in Moroni 10:3-5. I decided to put his promise to the test. I began reading and praying. One day I was working in the sun and I had this incredible warm feeling wash over me and I heard, in my mind, "It's true." From that day to this, I have had many personal revelations from my Father in Heaven confirming the truth of the gospel - that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, that Joseph smith is the prophet of the restoration, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's kingdom on earth. Personal revelation from the source of all truth. This is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try every day to live like the Savior would have me do. I'm not so good at it but I try. I have served over the years in many different callings. I am currently on the High Council of a young singles adult stake. These kids are the best and I really enjoy helping to guide them into the future of the church and the world.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

The plan of salvation called for it. Heavenly Father knew each of us would sin and that we would need help getting back to him. Thus Jesus volunteered himself to be our Savior and help us back to Father. Show more Show less
