Hi I'm Louise Wilcken

I'm a small town girl from Southern Utah. I'm a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being a wife, a mom, and a grandma. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life and I love that too. Good books are among my favorite treasures. I started learning to bake when I was 12 years old, and it is still one of my favorite hobbies. I love nature, especially when I can enjoy it with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and raised by faithful parents, and I am so grateful for that! My testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel didn't come all at once. It came here a little and there a little; growing steadily as I have tried my best to live the teachings of the Savior. The more I see of the world, the more convinced I am of the great need everyone has for the teachings found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, other scriptures, and the words of living prophets. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ! I love my Savior! There is not a single aspect of my life that is not influenced by the gospel. I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and that living the gospel will bring me joy now and eternal life with my Heavenly Parents.

How I live my faith

My husband and I recently returned from serving a mission in the Knoxville, Tennessee Mission. We served our entire mission in Harlan, Kentucky. We fell in love with the area, especially the people. Throughout my life I have served in the Church and in my community in many ways that were meaningful to me. I spent a total of 22 years serving in the young women program of the Church, and I loved every minute! My work with children and adults has also been very fulfilling. For ten years, I served as the Director of Wigs and Beards for the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, New York. It was an incredible experience to be a part of the miracles and powerful testimony of the pageant. There are many places we consider sacred in the Church. Some of these are the Sacred Grove, in New York, Rock Creek Hollow, in Wyoming, and the temple. These are favorite places for me and they have become personally sacred because of my own experiences there.
