Hi I'm Elder Timothy Nixon (霓長老)

I grew up in College Station, TX. I am currently serving in the Taiwan, Taibei Mission.

About Me

Currently I am missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in the Taiwan, Taibei Mission speaking Mandarin Chinese. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity to serve the Lord. Before coming on my mission, I attended BYU for one year studying Manufacturing Engineering and Accounting. I spent a lot of my free time DJing parties, playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and enjoying college life! I am the youngest of 10 children and I have 27 nieces and nephews!

Why I am a Mormon

So I was fortunate to have been raised in the church but that doesn't mean that I didn't have to gain a testimony for myself. My mother converted to the church when she was 18. She was born and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi and had never heard of Mormons until a pair of missionaries showed up on her doorstep. Needless to say, she felt compelled to join and eventually met my dad who was born and raised in the church. My mothers faith always inspired me because it was extremely difficult for her to join because her entire family opposed it. But she knew the feeling of confirmation she received was real, thus causing her to join. I am so grateful for my mother's unwavering faith and diligence to find and follow truth. She is a major reason why I am serving a mission. Her faith along with my fathers has benefited me so greatly! I know that I have been extremely blessed in my life, not only because of my family but also because of this church's teachings. I feel that every single person in this world deserves this wonderful plan of happiness, and serving this mission is one small way I can make that happen!

How I live my faith

Well now being a missionary I live my faith by sharing the gospel with the people of Taiwan, however before my mission I always tried to make it my goal to share the gospel with everyone I could. I find that if I stay on top of reading my scriptures and doing my daily prayers then I can maintain the close relationship I have with God. Through my faith in this gospel, I have come to find great peace and joy and I am thankful to share these feelings and experiences with many others.
