Hi I'm Shane

I grew up in Rexburg, Idaho. I come from a busy family of 10 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family. I have been a typical LDS teen. I have graduated seminary and High School. My hobbies are Hiking, Traveling, and working. I grow and sell flowers for my dad's business. I love to work and to be creative. I am 19 years old and much of my life still needs to be lived. I have big and specific plans. I'm going to serve the lord for two years in Monterrey Mexico, by inviting others to come unto Christ. As soon as they get me to come home, i plan to go to college at BYU-I. There I will find my wife. I want to be an engineer or a business owner, or a doctor, or a scientist, or ... well i will figure out what I want to do. My only hopes in a career are to provide for my family and still be able to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also plan to have several beautiful children. One of the biggest parts of my life is being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. Being a member is so important to me, because it helps me grow and learn and it provides a 2nd family of friends and neighbors who are kind and friendly. I love the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

People may think that my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is automatic, because my parents were both born as members and that I was born a member, but the truth is that any member of any religion would have to make the decision at some point how they want to live. This decision for me didn't come instantly when I was born or even when I was baptized at the minimum age of 8. My choice of how I want to live and if I am willing to follow Christ and his teachings has been made slowly by the small choices that I have made during my life. I have personally made the choice to be a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I love god and have learned of Christ. His church is on the earth today. Priesthood authority has been restored by Christ through his servants. I know that the Book of Mormon is true scripture. I know that Christ wasn't merely a great prophet, her was and is the son of God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and the gospel that it teaches is the way for us to return to live with god. Our choices matter to god.

How I live my faith

A way I live my faith is by participating. A unique element of the LDS or Mormon church is that we have no payed ministers. Each member is involved in teaching and serving in the church. I have been called to help teach the young children simple doctrines and ways that they can live the gospel. Another calling i have is to go home teaching with another man in the ward. We visit and teach people in their homes. This provides an opportunity to serve them and insure that their needs are being met. Another calling that I have at this time of my life of my life is my call to serve as a missionary in Mexico. My purpose in serving as a missionary for two years is to invite others to follow Jesus Christ. I hope to teach them the way god wants them to live. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ will being them peace, joy, and satisfaction in this life and eternal life in the world to come. These are the ways that i live my faith.
