Hi I'm Sue Mendenhall

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, retired teacher and a Mormon. I live in Orem, Utah.

About Me

I have been married to my best friend for many years. I'm a mother of 4 and grandmother. I'm a retired Elementary School teacher who taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades for 20 years. Teaching children how to read has been a joy for me. Reading, cooking and sewing are some of my interests. Being with my family brings me the greatest joy. Being out in nature and in the mountains brings me peace and calm.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. My testimony was nurtured with spiritual experiences with my mother, father, brothers, grandmother and teachers in the church. After I married and was expecting my first child, I felt I needed to know for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon Church) was true. I felt like I could not teach my son the Gospel unless I was sure it was true. I was inspired by a teacher who encouraged me to read the Book of Mormon. At the time I was going to school and working. So I walked home from school each day and prayed sincerely and read the Book of Mormon. This was a very spiritual growing experience for me as I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that the Book of Mormon and that the Mormon Church was true. This experience turned me to the Savior and gave me a strong desire to live His commandments and serve Him with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

Working with and teaching youth/children has brought me great satisfaction. At present I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints serving in the Provo Utah Mission as member support and leadership. Building friendships young and old a like brings me happiness. Being friends with woman my age and looking after them is satisfying. I have helped people from different walks of life find work and learn how to write resumes. I've tried to give encouragement and comfort to those in need. Serving brings me closer to the Savior. My husband and family are my constant area of focus. Serving them brings the greatest joy in life.
