Hi I'm Chad

I love sports. I speak Finnish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a great LDS (Mormon) family. We love doing family activities that include sports, camping, anything outside, watching movies, and many other things. My wife and I are both going to college. We stay busy with our studies but we love to have fun. We have many challenges and struggles but we really enjoy life. It is great to be alive in this magnificent world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family. However, I still needed to find out for myself what I really believed. I wasn't going to blindly believe everything that my parents and siblings believed just because I was supposed to. Growing up I went to church every Sunday, I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I said my prayers, and I went to Church youth activities. Through these things that I did I had many experiences that helped me learn what I really believed. I didn't have just one magnificent spiritual experience, I had many small spiritual experiences. Through these experience I came to know that God lives. He is our Heavenly Father and He loves us. He hears and answers our prayers. Through prayer I have come to know that Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is the Savior of the world. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. Through his atonement, or his sacrifice, we can repent and be forgiven for the sins and mistakes we have made. Through study and prayer I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Along with the Bible it testifies of Christ and teaches His Gospel. Through studying the Book of Mormon I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and through him Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were able to restore their true church back to the earth. God has a prophet on the earth today, his name is Thomas Monson. God is able to give us guidance and direction through this prophet that is tailored for our day. If we follow the prophet and obey God's commandments we will be blessed.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me. I served a mission for my church in Finland a few years ago. It was a great experience. I learned a lot from the Finnish people and I learned a lot about myself. I have been able to serve in many volunteer positions in my community and church. Currently my wife and I serve together in our church as Family History coordinators. We help those in our area to be familiar with the programs that the church has to help us gain information about our ancestors. I didn't know much about the programs (or about my own family history) before volunteering. It is amazing to learn about my ancestors and the stories that they have. In many ways I have found that they are very similar to me and my family. They all had struggles and hard times but It has increased my faith in God to read about their experiences.
