Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. I love the Lord and strive to be better everyday. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 4 girls and I love my family dearly. I have 6 of the cutest nieces and nephews in the world... ranging in age from 2 weeks to 17 years. I love being an aunt and hope to one day have children of my own. I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and am working towards my Master's in Counseling. I just started my dream job this year as an Academic Advisor at my Alma Mater. I'm a Texas girl at heart although I have spent many years away from there. I will always have a deep love for football and Mexican food. More than anything I just love life and enjoy everyday I have here on Earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have seen the good it brings into my life. I believe all of the teachings of this Church, but even if I didn't, I like the person I am as I live Gospel Principles. This Church encourages its members to be joyful. To treat others with love and kindness. You don't have to agree with someone to love them. When I look at people I see them as children of God. It's hard to dislike someone when you see them in that light. It doesn't make life easy, but it definitely makes life easier. There have been times in my life when I didn't keep the gospel close to my heart. In those times when I left the Church I felt empty and alone. I felt no one cared. When I fully immerse myself in the Church those feelings lessen. I still feel alone sometimes as a single adult, but when I pray I can feel the love of my Heavenly Father. I have felt the Holy Ghost witness to me that this Church is true. That the teachings of this Church will bring me close to my Heavenly Father. It is an unexplainable feeling. I wish everyone could feel this way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it part of my daily life. By reading scriptures, praying often, and writing in my journal every day I am reminded of Christ and of how I want to live my life. With all of the business in my day I often forget the purpose of why I am here on Earth. I forget that it takes work and determination to change and to become better. Every time I pick up my scriptures I am reminded of all of the work of the faithful prophets who dedicated their lives to preaching and writing their testimonies, and individuals who spent countless hours transcribing and translating them so that we can have them in our language today. I read stories of individuals who have gone through struggles that I can't imagine. It often puts my trials into perspective. In the scriptures I receive answers to questions I have about life before and after my mortal existence on Earth. With these daily reminders I am then ready to go out and face the day, and to remember that everyone around me is going through the same journey. We all have problems and hardships. We all have strengths and weaknesses. And our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and wants us to return to live with Him one day. I know that by living the principles of this Gospel I will continue to become better each day, and will hopefully one day be worthy to live with my Father in Heaven again.
