Hi I'm Keith

I am a percussionist. I have learned to love the scriptures. I am grateful to be a Mormon!

About Me

First off I would like to thank the reader for taking the time to read my profile out of the millions of others places you could read! I really enjoy playing anything that deals with percussion, and to me that includes every object on earth because when you strike it a sound will be produced, guaranteed! I find great joy and tranquility for the blessed opportunity that I have to be able to play drums. I recognize that not everyone can or has the ability to play an instrument and so I'm thankful to my Father in Heaven for a functioning body! I'm currently serving a mission in South East Texas and Far West Louisiana. On my mission I preach the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and it is the same gospel that the apostles in the New Testament were sent to proclaim, Matthew 28: 19-20. I love inviting and helping others to come unto Christ! When I arrive home I plan on going to college so that I can learn how to be an optometrist. I love creative writing, camping, sports, video games, jazz music, my family, game nights, reptiles, disk golf, reading, and especially understanding people!

Why I am a Mormon

This life has many interesting point of views. There are so many diverse opinions on multiple subjects that can cause a person to question which course of action to pursue in life. From my experience of talking to people I feel safe to assume that the decisions people make are mostly based upon their desire to experience happiness, peace, or success in life. The Holy Bible, Book of Mormon, modern prophets, and other scriptures exhort us to live our lives in a specific way which is outlined by commandments given from God to mankind, Abraham 3: 25. Breaking the commandments causes us to sin, sin causes our spirits to become dirty, and this causes a spiritual death which is separation from God's presence, 1st Nephi 10: 21. King Benjamin explained this punishment in Mosiah 2: 38. I have been taught and raised to believe in Jesus Christ. I've always had a certain pull towards learning more about Him and I'm glad that I continued to pursue that desire, it was and is my choice! Over the course of 12 years I have listened to, read about, and applied the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it is only in and through having Faith in Jesus Christ and His atonement, repentance, baptism by proper authority, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and by continuing to live the gospel until I die that I can find that true happiness in both this life, and the life to come, 2nd Nephi 25: 23!

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a two year mission to bring others to the knowledge that Christ is their Savior and has restored to this earth the same authority that He gave to the twelve Apostles, Luke 9: 1! Since I've been on my mission I have noticed that there are many different beliefs on what faith is. I have learned for myself that faith is a belief or hope in something/one that that you cannot see, Hebrews 11: 1; Ether 12: 6. This encompasses many things that are unseen in our lives like the effects of our actions, the words within a book, and the future. However, we must come to realize that a person cannot have faith unless there is an action associated with that belief. If there is no action then it's like watching television and hoping that the channel will change without pressing the button on the remote/TV to actually change the channel, James 2: 26!!! After we have exercised our hope by pressing the button, we then receive a witness to whether our faith was based upon truth or false beliefs, Alma 32: 26-28, 33-39. If the channel changes then it is true that pressing the button will change the channel! So it is with God. With this being said, I live my faith by keeping the commandments that Heavenly Father has given us! I have received a witness that reading the scriptures brings self confidence that I am a child of God! I know that Jesus Christ truly suffered for our sins and died for our bodies to be resurrected because I have felt the sweet relief of repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost! I know that the Priesthood power and authority of God has been restored to the earth through Peter, James, and John to Joseph Smith because I have felt the power of God flow through me in a blessing given to a sick man, James 5: 14! The Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and received a witness by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is more of God's revealed word, Moroni 10: 3-5! You too can find out, just apply faith in your life!
