Hi I'm Grace

Whether in Oregon, Chicago, North Dakota, or Utah, wherever I am I love to live and experience life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third and first girl of six children and my family not only defines me, but they are also my best friends. I love living life to its fullest and trying new things be it learning to cook soufflés, meeting new and interesting people, or driving across and exploring the United States. I also love being active and being outside playing water polo, gardening, swimming, camping, hiking, or simply finding sand dollars at the beach. In addition to this I also love to play and share music through French horn, piano, and singing. Dance is another thing that has really come to describe both me and my personality. Sometimes you just have to dance it out! While I did a bit of ballet when I was younger, dancing has become a way for me to express myself and relax, just like music has been for my whole life. Learning is also a key part to me. Acquiring new skills and finding out new information is something that I just think is so cool and wonderful and is such a blessing in life, that we can constantly be learning about the world around us and the amazing things that surround us. I had the opportunity to continue my learning at college for a while, but I am currently learning spiritually and preparing for my mission in Costa Rica at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been given the beautiful blessing of being raised in a loving family and with the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, this is not necessarily the reason why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- a Mormon. I believe that with all things we go through three phases: desire, belief, and knowledge. As I went to Sunday school, other church activities, and have gone through life in general, I have truly gone through these and I can say that I am a Mormon because I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to this earth because our Heavenly Father loves me and each of us so much and wants us to be happy. I am a Mormon because the gospel gives me so much guidance and happiness in my life that I so desperately need in a world that can seem so daunting. I am a Mormon because the gospel gives me hope that I can be better and the knowledge that I am always loved and cared for.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with those around me. At the moment, I am working with the girls ages 14-18 in my ward by teaching lessons in church on Sunday and planning activities. They constantly give me opportunities to share the gifts that I have been given and to work on them as well. Also, by working with these girls I have come to learn how special each of us are as God's children. In addition to this, I am a ward missionary, so I have the opportunity to go out with the full-time sister missionaries on their appointments. By doing this, my testimony has been strengthened so much as I share my thoughts and testimony and as I listen to others and learn with them. I think another part of living my faith, aside from participating at church and my responsibilities there, is how I go throughout my life with strong gospel standards. In acting in the way the Lord wants us to, there is so much happiness that can enter into our lives, something I have truly seen and felt. I know that no matter how hard or complicated life can get, be it transitions within the family, moving, or overwhelming stress from everything, if I am trying my best and living in a way that God wants me to that things will be ok in the end and that I can be happy through it all.
