Hi I'm Kayla

I grew up in California and enjoying life away from home for the first time and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in the same town my whole life, and now I'm experiencing life away from home! It has been a challenge being away from my family, but it has been amazing to see how much I've been able to grow as an individual. I just graduated from Brigham Young University, and I am loving the small moments I get to experience while being out here.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Growing up, I noticed that the lifestyle I had was different than most around me. I also noticed that I consistently felt a sense of peace and joy in my heart. At the age of 19, I had a strong desire to learn for myself of whether or not the Church was true. In order to do this, I took the challenge to read the Book of Mormon. I read for four days straight in my bedroom until I finished the last page. After, I prayed to my Heavenly Father asking if this book was truly another testament of Jesus Christ. I thought I would get some glorious response, but nothing came. I was not quite sure what to think. A few days later a friend asked me what my religious beliefs were. As soon as he asked that, I felt overcome with the Holy Ghost testifying to me the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I learned for myself that it was true! I testified to my friend that I KNEW the Book of Mormon was another testament of Jesus Christ. I KNEW that God loves all of his children and that he restored the fullness of the gospel in these days. I KNEW that My Savior atoned for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins. I KNEW that this church was true. Looking back, I wondered why I didn't get an instant answer to my prayer. I now know it was because the Lord was testing my faith. In order to have faith in something, action needs to take place. I had to read the Book for myself, pray to my Heavenly Father, and listen when the answer came. I am so grateful for this gospel in my life and I sincerely hope that you can find that peace and assurance you are looking for through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a member of this church, I am assigned to meet with two other sisters who live close by each month. I have come to love these sisters and I make sure that their needs are being met. I help strengthen them both spiritually and temporally. I try to find ways to serve them, and watch over them as the Savior would do if he was on the earth today.
