Hi I'm Jessie Dominguez

I grew up in Las Vegas, aka "sin city", Nevada where I found Christ through Mormon missionaries and loving LDS families.

About Me

I am a first time dad to my beautiful daughter, and am married to my converted to Christ wife, whom I met and had the blessing to baptize when I returned home from serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in North Lima, Peru after being a member for only about 2 years. I now work in communications with a well known company which I know was a blessing from the hand of the Lord. I grew up playing football, my all time favorite sport(go broncos!), and I also played baseball, basketball, volleyball and wrestled for my high school. It kept me busy and out of trouble and eventually led me to discover the Church of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I attended several non-denominational churches growing up and enjoyed the time I spent going to church with my dad. I don't remember much of the teachings, but I remember a lot of the youth activities and classes I went to on Sundays. I was introduced to the church after I learned that several of the kids I went to school with and even some I grew up with were members. It struck my interest and I took it upon myself to go to a church and find out what the "Mormon" church was. I admit that it was a bit awkward to just go to a new church and learn new things, but it was explained to me so plainly, that I understood it and it all made perfect sense. I have since then joined the church and even though coming from a somewhat broken home, I continued to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and am blessed everyday for it. I have felt how much the Lord loves me and feel of his mercy even when I am not so obedient. I am forever grateful for the scriptures, the gospel, and prayer, because I know that I will someday be able to return to live with my family and the Lord for all eternity. I cannot picture my life without the true and full gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior and my Heavenly Father and am forever indebted.

How I live my faith

I strive to live the gospel daily and be an example to others around me. I love to serve others, and especially love to serve in the calling or assignment that I have as our ward's Young Men's President. Working with the youth helps inspire me to be better everyday and even helps me stay youthful! I have served also as a counselor in the organization for men and loved providing service when needed. My wife and I also co-taught 5 year olds and were taught so much by Heavenly Fathers children. I have never felt so uplifted or closer to our Heavenly Father than when I am doing the Lords errand, and striving to live by the Lords commandments.
