Hi I'm Marcy

I'm married and living my "happily ever after." I love fairytales, Valentine's Day, and climbing trees. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with lots of kids, playing outdoors in fields, trees, and playing nightgames across backyards. I play the French Horn, and the creation of beautiful music moves my soul in a way perhaps only musicians can understand. I studied Medieval European History in University. I met my true love while dancing, and we enjoy ballroom dancing to this day. I lived with Chinese people in Canada for a year while serving an LDS mission. I learned Mandarin, and came to love the Chinese people, their culture, and their food. I lived in France for a school year, and felt like I was living a real-life fairytale the whole time. I married a Canadian and our kiddos will be blessed with tri-nationality. My adult life has been a living study of cultures and nations, and I have come to strongly believe that the only citizenship to give all my loyalty and love to is my citizenship in the Kingdom of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found the fullness of the Gospel here. I have been uplifted and inspired by other religions and their edifices, particularly Catholic cathedrals in France. But no other religion offers me a way to covenant with God that I will live his gospel, and have his promise in return that I may live with and love my family for this life as well as in life after death. My family, my relationship with God, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are everything to me. I believe that our souls are eternal. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that he is the key to happiness and fulfillment. The Mormon church has a restoration of all the doctrines Christ taught while he was on the earth-- the whole enchilada. I am a Mormon because my quest for understanding and truth has been accepted and encouraged here. This church WANTS me to ask questions, to look for deeper understandings and further my knowledge, and is patient with me when I doubt and have misunderstandings. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It truly is "good news."

How I live my faith

Community is so important for humans! I enjoy participating in several communities, that of young mommies being the newest addition. My church community helps me to live out the faith of my heart into actions and service. I worked with the children at church for several years, teaching scripture stories, morals, and singing songs with them. I appreciate the simplicity of faith in God that I learn from children. I currently am a secretary for our women's organization, and do my best to spread faith in Christ every step of the way. I try to busy myself with loving. Loving my family, my friends, my community and coworkers, and myself. After all, God is Love. The first and second great commandments are to Love God, and each other. And so I love.
