Hi I'm Jeff Mendenhall

I grew up on a livestock ranch in Northern California. I am a retired County Planning Director. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a sheep and cattle ranch in Northern California. I received a master's degree in urban planning and have worked in the planning profession 40 years; the last 35 years as a director of planning for a public jurisdiction until I retired. I like to golf, read, draw, and fish. I am married and my wife and I have four children and several grandchildren which we love to visit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family. I was taught by my parents and other Church leaders and teachers the principles of the Mormon faith. I now have my own testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it has been restored in these latter days through the Prophet Joseph Smith who was visited by God the Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know this to be true because I have received my own witness through prayer.

How I live my faith

I have been an active Mormon all my life. Living in California and Utah I have participated in many aspects of the Mormon faith. I have taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to both youth and adults. I have been a Scoutmaster, played on church softball and basketball teams, and preached of Christ from the pulpit when assigned. For myself, my wife and my children, being a Mormon has guided us daily in our work, school and home activities. Family and personal prayer, reading from the Bible and the Book of Mormon and serving others has blessed our lives.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jeff Mendenhall
A personal testimony reveals a truth through the Holy Ghost that cannot be denied because it is sealed in your heart. It may be a still small voice, a warm feeling, a feeling of peace or joy, but it will give you answers to your prayers so that there will be no doubt. It can be for a single gospel principle or for a confirmation of belief in Christ and his restored gospel. The Holy Ghost will always speak eternal truths to the hearts of those who have faith and a desire to know God's will for them. Show more Show less
